We’re excited to welcome a new face to the Sovereign Commercial Services family—Rich Comer, who joins us with a deep industry background, a strong sense of purpose, and a love for clean facilities.
Residing in Lancaster, PA with his wife Rachel, and their energetic one-year-old red lab named Goose, Rich brings over six years of experience in the commercial and industrial cleaning world. His journey includes time at Nilfisk, a global leader in premium cleaning equipment, where he saw firsthand how the right tools—and people—can dramatically improve facility operations.
Why Sovereign?
For Rich, joining a family-owned, mission-driven company like Sovereign just felt right.
“Everyone here is energized, supportive, and focused on delivering top-tier service. That’s the kind of culture I want to be a part of.”
As an ISSA State Advocacy Leader, Rich is passionate about industry standards and understands what makes a facility services company stand out: accountability, consistency, and the ability to deliver on your promise. That’s exactly what he sees in Sovereign—and what he plans to contribute.
Bringing Knowledge and Vision to the Table
Rich’s previous role at Nilfisk gave him an in-depth understanding of how cleaning equipment enhances operational efficiency. Now, he’s excited to pair that knowledge with Sovereign’s service-based approach to help businesses meet their facility goals.
“Sovereign offers customized, high-quality solutions, and I’m eager to help introduce more organizations to the value we can bring.”
When asked about what excellent facility service means to him, Rich puts it simply: “Reliability. A great commercial cleaning partner doesn’t just make an impact on day one—they maintain that standard every day after.”
A Glimpse Outside the Office
When he’s not helping clients elevate their facilities, you can find Rich on the golf course, walking Goose, or cheering on his favorite sports teams—Mets, Rangers, Knicks, Giants, and Manchester United, to name a few. He’s also a former collegiate soccer player from Misericordia University, where he studied Government, Law, and National Security.
Looking Ahead
In his first year, Rich hopes to introduce more businesses to Sovereign’s capabilities and continue building upon the company’s strong foundation of innovation and excellence.
“Sovereign is a talented group of professionals who care about what they do. I’m looking forward to learning from leaders like Rachel Brutosky and Douglas Fink—who have built a strong reputation in this industry—and doing my part to contribute to the team’s success.”
His advice for others in the facility services world?
“Embrace people and listen first. Every business faces unique challenges. By understanding those, you can provide real, meaningful solutions.”
Welcome to the team, Rich—we’re thrilled to have you on board!
